Yoga: As a Reunion with yourself

Yoga brings us into the present moment, exactly as we are and where we are. It cultivates awareness of the body and a deep listening to the messages it has to give us. Yoga is an opportunity to be really honest with yourself, to look deep within so that you may shine brighter without. Yoga is a reunion with yourself.

What does yoga mean to you? How do you take your yoga off the mat and into your life?

Join us as we explore the practice of yoga through postures and discussion. We'll nurture our bodies and spirit as we absorb the themes of each night's sacred circle, as well as play and experiment with ways we might bring our practice into the circle!

Alicia Altair

In love with movement arts since her first ballet classes at age seven, Alicia's diverse studies range from Ballet, Modern, Urban Freestyle, Odissi, Firedance, Middle Eastern Folkloric, Bellydance, Chinese Martial Arts, and of course, Yoga.

Alicia is a dedicated student of world-renowned bellydancer Suhaila Salimpour, and until her recent move from California was a member of the Suhaila Salimpour Repertoire Ensemble. Alicia has also traveled and performed extensively as a fire dancer and loves to fuse her dance vocabulary with the element of fire.

Through every other movement practice Alicia has discovered that for her, yoga is the root, the foundation. She joyfully strives to bring dance to her yoga, and yoga to her dance.
